Without further delay, we in My Blue Sky are pleased now to welcome our new bass player, Mark “Marco” Simpson! After spending 18 years in the San Francisco Bay area in the music industry, Marco adopted Colorado as his new home in 1999. He started playing guitar at 9 years of age, then took up bass while on tour with Windham Hill Artists in 1997. Marco has decades of experience in the studio & live touring as a sound engineer and performer. Marco has since made his mark in the Denver metro area performing with some of the best local talent: 10 years with his band Mother Lode ... 6-plus years with Brothers of the Son ... Owner of Kermitts Roadhouse from 2005 to 2012 ... and Production Director & Talent Acquisition at one of Colorado’s hottest new music venues. This little fella is still hitting it hard! Now the newest member of the band (sorry Jeff) and the shortest (sorry Tim), Marco will be stepping into the shoes of the tallest member of the band and celebrates his newfound home with My Blue Sky!
As we have mentioned previously, founding member David Brandt has announced that he will be leaving My Blue Sky at the end of November to pursue other personal goals. It is difficult to put into words all that David has meant to the band. We are a family and we will miss his presence after his departure.
Please join us in giving a warm welcome to Marco! As we transition toward David’s departure at the end of November, Marco will be joining us for portions of some of our upcoming shows. See us in the coming months and keep your eyes open! — with David Brandt, Jamie McGregor, John Gallagher, Marco Simpson, Troy Benns, Daniel W. Jones and Robert Smith.

I’d like to express my warmest gratitude for the opportunity and privilege to be invited into such an amazing band and family. I will give my all to live up to My Blue Sky’s level of professionalism and uncompromising performances. It is with great pride that I get to play with these guys and will do my best to make them proud ... as well as honor David Brandt’s legacy for putting together this project 7 years ago. It's with heavy heart that I announce my departure from the Union Gray Band. It's been an honor to share the stage with some of the best musicians in Colorado whom I will always consider my brothers. This ... I will miss ... it's been a great journey with all of you. I wish Union Gray the best and many years of success. Cheers, Marco
